-This was good stuff and is destined I think to be a cult film favorite. The combination of story, writing, action and gore really worked, and with the romance it even makes you care about the characters. Always a bonus in a movie of this type and one that makes the difference between a movie that quickly disappears and one that endures for ye+Be Kind Rewind is a comedy directed by Michel Gondry, featuring Jack Black and Mos Def. The film follows two friends who accidentally erase all the tapes at their video rental store. Desperate to keep their last few customers, they set out to remake every film in the collection, resulting in a series of wildly creative, low-budget adaptations. -Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak and Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence ( Winter's Bone , The Hunger Games ) jointly announced the nominations for the 84th Academy Awards this morning, on Tuesday January 24th. The actual 2012 Oscar ceremony will take place next month, on February 26th at the Kodak theater - with Billy Crystal serving as host, for the ninth time in his car+Jerry gets electrocuted while trying to sabotage a power plant, the side effect of which is that he is now magnetized. He comes into the dollar video store where Mike is temporarily in charge and inadvertently erases all the videotapes in the store. Jerry is severely obnoxious and of course, oblivious to the f

-Joy isn't generally regarded as being filmmaker David O. Russell's best work, while neither Trainwreck nor Spy necessarily breaks the mold when it comes to the comedy moviemaking approach of directors Judd Apatow and Paul Feig, respectively. By comparison, it is widely agreed that The Martian is Ridley Scott's best work in several years, in addition to being an impressive piece of storytelling solely on its own terms. Again, it's difficult to imagine that The Martian won't be crowned Best Comedy by the HFPA (and with good reason), when all is said and d+When customers start returning videos to the store as defective, Mike discovers that the entire inventory is now useless. Mia Farrow plays an older woman who is keeping an eye on things while the owner (Danny Glover) is staying out of the picture, pretending to be out of town. She has only ever seen "chick flicks" but wants to watch Ghostbusters . Of course it's now erased but finding the store in disarray she threatens to report the situation to the owner if they don't get her a c

- +If you missed our live-chat for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards this evening, don’t fret, we have the winners and a brief recap of the ceremony for you. In short, Inception took home the technical categories, The Social Network took a few, notably for its score and The King's Speech was the big winner, coming in with 12 nominations and walking out with four big wins, including best pict

-Jack Black stars as Jerry, a uneducated slacker with big dreams who lives in a trailer. He's pals with Mike (played by Mos Def), a low-key guy without any big aspirations who works at one of the last few VHS video rental stores left in New Jer+Lazarus decides that he will "cure" her of this sickness, but when in a half-delirium she has a nightmare and he finds her outside in the middle of the night he decides to chain her up and that's where the chemistry between Jackson and Ricci onscreen begins. What Lazarus doesn't realize is that his attempt to cure Rae will also help him find peace for his own soul regarding the betrayal he feels concerning his w

-The pet peeves I have include people that just wouldn't stay dead. We're talking getting battered with a big fire extinguisher multiple times with enough force that would turn a skull into pudding. The only explanation might be that due to the effects of the signal, these people weren't really still moving, getting up, etc., but that those in the room just imagined it. The other thing that bothered me was how our hero seemed to be able to fight off the effects of the signal despite exposure. This was never really explained to my satisfact+They get it done in the nick of time and as it turns out she and the gang-banger friends of the young man living in her home like it as well. Jerry, Mike and a young lady (Melonie Diaz) they rope into working with them also do a version of Rush Hour 2 (no doubt better than the original) - word gets out and soon people are lining up to get their homemade versions of popular mov

-The owner of the store has always told Mike that Fats Waller was born in the building and grew up around the neighborhood. Being that "Fats" is a hero of Mike's, they decide to create an original movie about the man's l+They end up charging $20 to "Swede" a movie - their term for doing a 20 minute cheesy version of popular movies. The store and their movies end up a huge hit until the evil Hollywood lawyer (Sigourney Weaver) shows up to sue them for copyright infringement and destroy all their custom creati

-After the black and white introduction we find ourselves in an elementary school classroom, complete with perky teacher wearing a technicolor yellow dresss and well behaved students. The first clue as to the tone of the [[https://Moviefestivalhub.com/|Movie awards games tips|https://moviefestivalhub.com/]] is given when the newly arrived Safety Director of ZomCon (who has a daughter in the classroom) arrives to fill the kids in on how much safer the town will now be with him around. The first question he asks the room filled with nine or ten year olds is: "So how many of you have killed a zombie?" To which the reply is about a half dozen little hands shooting up in an affirmative answer, all the while with smiles all around the cl+Some interesting notes: True Grit didn't get a single award despite ten (10!) nominations; Christopher Nolan didn't receive any awards despite Inception being entirely original and praised for its design, winning 4 other awards no less; Anne Hathaway, poking fun at the Academy's attempt at appealing to a younger demographic is the presentation's youngest host ever at 28 and last but not least, 8-time Oscars host Billy Crystal made a friendly and fun appearance making some wish he was back to host ag

-In 2014, however, the Academy seemed to slip back to their more obscure choices. Clint Eastwood's American Sniper was the only Best Picture nominee to gross over $100 million by the night of the ceremony and had made more than its seven competitors combined. The average domestic total for a nominee this year was just $77.6 million: an average which is respectable, but a far cry from the averages of the past two years, where multiple blockbusters contended for Best Pict+Other notable wins in the film category were Meryl Streep as Best Actress (drama) for portrayal as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady , Best Actress (comedy or musical) Michelle Williams for My Weekend With Marilyn and Octavia Spencer for Best Supporting Actress in The He

-So, all in all, just another year at the Oscars - complete with plenty of obvious choices, surprising snubs, and a handful of unexpected nominations. Whether or not the actual winners list will be quite so predictable - or, perhaps, mix things up a bit - that remains to be s+In television, it was Showtime that came out on top, with three awards all stemming from brand new series. Matt Leblanc took home Best Actor (comedy or musical) for playing a fictionalized version of himself on the UK import Episodes , while Homeland not only brought home a Golden Globe for Claire Danes as Best Actress (drama), but it also gave Showtime its first ever award for Best Ser

-This year, some expected that trend to continue, with the ultra-likable Neil Patrick Harris drawing the host gig for the 2015 Oscars show. However, moviegoers weren't all that interested in seeing Barney Stinson celebrate the year in film, as the awards broadcast scored the lowest ratings in quite some t+Regardless of which side you are on in regards to the current war, you will be entranced by Enemies of Happiness . -Steven Spielberg's War Horse managed to land six nods, but the bulk of its nominations were for technical achievements; by comparison, Alexander Payne's The Descendants raked in five, including (as expected) one for George Clooney as an actor, and others in areas like adapted screenplay and direction. Similar to War Horse , David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo landed mostly technical category nods - though, Rooney Mara was recognized for her performance in the f+Samuel L. Jackson I can watch in just about anything. Either the man just melts into his roles or he has a knack for choosing characters that fit him like a glove. His righteous indignation was a blast to watch and seeing him soften as the film went on while somehow retaining his hard edge was very satisfying. Christina Ricci was hotness on wheels in this [[https://Moviefestivalhub.com/|movie awards games cheats|https://moviefestivalhub.com/]], I don't know how else to put it. Although she captured the look of a poor, alcohol and drug addicted young twenty-something to perfection through her attitude and underweight appearance, it was still obvious how beautiful she was/could be and the heat she was able to generate onscreen was formidable.
