With over half of Fortnite's player base being between the ages of 10 and 12, it's unlikely that they will have their own credit card and will have to use their parents if they intend to redeem the OG Pickaxe. It's hard not to think back to the popular 2018 meme that fictionalized children stealing their parents' credit cards to buy V-Bucks . Most platforms have the option to save credit card information for future use, and this one-time free redemption of the OG Pickaxe could lead to accidental or intentional purchases in the future. While Epic Games may not have malicious intent when requiring the Pickaxe to be redeemed through the system's store, it does raise the question as to why the developer wouldn't distribute the item the same way it has in the p

Many players of the popular Metroid series will be hoping that the much-discussed Samus Aran skin will be in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 7. Speculation on the matter has only intensified after the bounty hunter's skin's possible existence was leaked during the Apple v. Epic Games court case. As for the game's other extraterrestrial teases, players who have not received postcards but still wish to call the obscure number can do so. It may be the closest that Fortnite has come to doing anything nearing a full-blown ARG to promote one of its seasons, and it's a novel way to interact with the game's lore in real l

These in-game virtual concert experiences are becoming a great alternative to simply watching artists perform live on stream and games like Roblox , Fortnite , and even Minecraft (which held its own in-game concert experience earlier this year) are making these experiences not only possible but even more enjoyable. Crop circles, typically associated with alien activity in the real world, have been appearing at Colossal Crops, offering a large hint that celestial visitors are already on The Island. In a less subtle hint about what to expect in Season 7, some Fortnite players are being abducted by UFOs . These first contact events all seem to clearly be building towards Chapter 2, Season 6's finale, which will conclude on June 7. The game's next season transition should be interesting to watch, with the current "Primal" season being a far cry from alien abductions and crop circ

Travis Scott held a virtual concert in Fortnite earlier this year, which was attended by over 12.3 million concurrent players . Since then, Fortnite developer Epic Games has booked several more in-game musical experiences and even launched its Party Royale mode dedicated to virtual concerts and gatherings. Just last month, hit K-pop group BTS debuted one of its latest music videos in Fortnite’s Party Roy

With how often Fortnite is evolving, the upgrade to a better engine leaves more room for optimization. The game has moved beyond just a standard battle royale, with players capable of using superpowers . There are also events like Fortnitemares or live concerts featuring celebrities. Because of this, players may start to worry if they are capable of running Fortnite on their consoles or computers. Today, the Original Pickaxe hit the item shop along with the previously leaked OG skin sets. However, the OG Pickaxe is not gifted to players upon logging in like previous free items. Instead, it is listed under the Limited Time Offers section of the item shop, which usually houses bundles that can only be purchased with real money. When tested on the PS4, the player was required to enter their credit card information regardless of the item having a total cost of
