An enhanced version titled Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was later released for Wii U and 3DS in 2013. This title was very well received and is considered a critical and commercial succ

The Yian Garuga looks like an Elder Dragon in appearance, but it's actually classified as a Bird Wyvern in-game. It was introduced in Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite for the PlayStation Portable, and it's been brought back for almost every Monster Hunter title since except for Monster Hunter: Rise (though it's still possib

The original version became one of the best-selling games for the PSP, but arguably the iOS version is even better as it feels like more than just a simple port. The iOS version also allows players to still experience this classic game despite the PSP now being all but forgot

Instead of hunting monsters, players befriend and fight alongside them in battle. Monsters could be bred from eggs and players could customize their appearance and abilities. Though very different from the standard Monster Hunter adventure, Stories was a refreshing take on the franchise, and the game sold well on rele

If there’s one thing that isn’t a lie about this baked good, it's how delicious this cake looks. As one of Portal’s most frequent references, a lot of attention has been drummed up towards this black forest cake, and its appearance toward the end of the first game pays off - even if players never get the satisfaction of a sl

Animal Crossin g is home to a considerable amount of delectable goods, but nothing feels as satisfying as receiving Mom's Homemade Cake. No matter a player's palette, there’s a cake for every occasion. Whether it’s strawberry, chocolate, or carrot, whichever a player receives will be just like Mom used to make

Of course, since the two are a couple, attacking one will frequently cause the other to come rushing over. One of the hardest quests in Iceborne pits the hunter against both at the same time, but with a skilled enough team, it'll be quite a satisfying mission to complete. Make sure you stock up on Antidotes, as their poisonous attacks can completely change the tide of a h

Capcom's expansive Monster Hunter IP recently saw the impressive launch of Monster Hunter Rise on the Nintendo Switch , already with over six million copies sold. Next up for the series is a spin-off in the form of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin . The first Monster Hunter Stories released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016, introducing turn-based combat to the series for the first time, plus the ability to ride and hatch monsters. Monster Hunter Stories 2 , which releases next month, continues that same spin-off momen

This delicious-looking pie is offered to the player towards the start of their adventure and has incredible healing properties if the player decides to take a bite during battle. However, keeping this pie stashed away in the inventory until one of the final battles may open up new elements to the storyline which would be missed otherwise. So as well as being an impressive piece of pastry, it can also be used as a gateway to a past l

It's hard to think of Pokemon in the style of Breath of the Wild in practicality. Sure, anyone can edit a screenshot to have Gyarados in a BOTW lake or Rapidash racing across the field, but isn't that just what the Wild Area is? The illusion of an open world, the type that would look good in screenshots, but without meaning or purpose. Without any heart or direction, BOTW would not be the same game. It gives you freedom to go wherever you want, but it also provides contours across the map to steer you towards towns, it makes sure each location is thematically linked, and you often need to hit multiple landmarks to secure the tools and ingredients to reach the next one. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of it, I have to admire the level of design on show here. It's not a level I think Pokemon can match, and that's before you introduce the much more complicated issue of where you put the Pokemon and how you offer freedom while ensuring players don't meet their doom at the feathers of an overpowered Hawlucha 40 minutes into the g

I’ve wanted an open-world Pokemon game for as long as I can remember - longer than I can even put into words. I remember playing the very first Assassin’s Creed and thinking ‘I hope they put Pokemon on the PlayStation one of these days’. What a fool I was. What an absolute buffoon of a 14-year-old. But that was what appealed to me more than any gameplay conventions - can I get it on my TV. With the Switch and the likes of Let’s Go and Sword & Shield, that’s now a reality, but the open-world hankering remains. Legends: Arceus , which is now going back on its open world promise , might be the perfect middle gro

Like the two prior entries, the cooking system requires Link to just bring the ingredients he needs to a cooking pot. Unlike the previous entries, however, there is no easy compendium of dishes to reference. Trial and effort are required to figure out the best dishes to provide Link with the best meals and in turn the best bu
